Thinking yellow....

Now that the K-01 has dropped to a can't not buy it price, I am thinking that I just might get the yellow model. It may be because I own yellow Alien Bees strobes and have adjusted to the color. It would match my studio so would blend it rather
than stand out. I also think a yellow camera is less likely to be stolen. Just yell, "That guy stole my yellow camera",and everyone will know instantly who you are referring to in the sea of black and silver camera bodies.
BUT, does it wear well and if not does it get unsightly. At $346, I do not see reselling it for much when I am done with it so if it gets dirty, who cares. But if it gets butt ugly dirty then, maybe yes, I would rather go with a black body. So any of you brave souls out there who pioneered the way with you love of the glaring, what is the verdict.

Thanks, Dave

I say follow the yellow brick road. If you're going to carry something kind of freakish-looking you might as well go all out. That's what I did.

The yellow rubber does not seem super-soft so I'm hoping it won't be too susceptible to stains.

The others I've asked said it holds its colour well . Also, the yellow is just so much fun, and for me at least, that helps re enforce what this camera is all about really.... a bit of darn ol' silly old' fun

My yellow has been ordered

And that sort of money it will be hard to sell off, and in 12m time it will still have a chance of being used if the novelty is still there

I've also heard the yellow grip holds up well. The one reason I have the black K-01 instead of the Bumblebee is because I do a lot of shooting in museums (where the quiet shutter is a plus), and I didn't want a yellow blob reflected in every glass case.

Hmm with the yellow, does one have to dress like this? (depends on how stupid your work is, but perhaps nsfw)

You will notice what appears to be the 'Madam' in the middle in control with her yellow 40mm combo hahaha

Last week one off our London2012 Olympic Gold winners came to me and said "Hi hello, have you made good pictures? I recognized your yellow camera." No black model camera can do so much for you

Y'know, as much as I love Pentax and appreciate their willingness/determination to think differently, I sometimes question their policy of staffing the marketing department with outpatients from the local mental hospital...
