K-01 AF speed

Still waiting for my ordered K-01. Can anyone who has used k-01 tell me if its AF speed with new firmware update is not slower than k-5 PDAF? Hope its AF speed is faster than K-5s PDAF and CDAF.

Um.. CD AF is always slower than PD AF. The firmware improves the speed, but I doubt it can compete with the K-5's excellent PD AF. Probably beats its CD AF, though (but I haven't seen any tests done so what do I know)
Edit: Some new cameras now have hybrid sensors that have special phase detect AF and then use CD for the final accuracy (since CD can sometimes be more precise and is immune to front focusing / backfocusing problems and doesn't need AF fine adjustment). But not the K-01.

Those hybrid sensors aren't impressive at all AFAIC. There are the K-01 AF tests:

From my own personal test in dark area, K01 seems to be able lock focus better and more accurately than K5 using the same lens. My K5 will just hunt and hunt for awhile and k01 would lock focus in one go. The lens I used for that test was FA* 24mm.

I've heard the Nikon J1/V1 does the hybrid AF pretty nicely. FWIW, my friend's NEX5N focuses quite quickly, faster than my k-x. The k-5, however, is faster.

The k-01 is quite quick too, on par with the NEX5N I think.

So does the k-30 and the new k-511 blow the k-01 away? I was under the impression that the k-30 and k-01 were about equal in speed.

The K-01 and the K-30 on CDAF are practically the same, but on PDAF the K-30 is faster and more reliable. The lastest firmware did a big improvement on the K-01 AF. It depends on your needs.

Er, more reliable? In what way?

CDAF is perfectly accurate. Slower, but accurate.

Regarding AF speed between kx and k5, I feel kx is a little bit faster than k5, especially in not too bright indoor environment. Does anyone share the same feeling?

Maybe indoors - my k-x slows to a crawl with most of my lenses indoors in dim light, but I've heard the k-5 sometimes being bad at AF in time lighting. Would still be surprised it if was slpwer though. Outside it's pretty quick, but I felt the k-5 was a good bit faster.
