Guess what turned up in my mailbox this morning....

FYI, that's a "Racer X" strap from Couch Guitar Straps. As chance would have it, both the camera and strap arrived at the same time.

I am still waiting very impatiently for the battery to charge up!

How much was it, and could you get me one and send it to me (in Canada)?

Cheers,
Cameron
I looked today, but they are sold out. I paid 280,- for the silver K-01 / 18-55 kit in The Netherlands.

You better email them and ask about availability. That's what I did. I was told to go ahead and order a different color, and to add a note telling them to change it to yellow. It may just depend on how much of the yellow material they have available.

Wow, you must really love the K-01.

Nice collection, btw. The silver one is my favorite, too bad it wasn't a standard model available in the US...

Yowsa! I'm happy with just my "First-Day-of-Issue" Black K-01, but I have a Black and a White Q.

Is it possible to lock just the Q-key so the default is CAP ON?

I do, I honestly do - and I didn't think I would. I was on the fence about getting one until I read a review that concluded the ONLY people who would buy the K-01 were eccentric artists, camera collectors, and Pentax diehards ('artist' is questionable, but otherwise guilty on all counts). So if Pentax made a camera just for ME, it would be rude NOT to have more than one...

I had come to somewhat the same conclusion. I had wanted a silver one. My wife got me a white one for xmas. I returned the favor by getting her a black one for her birthday. I picked up another black one when the price bottomed out. We both think its the bees knees. I have a strong conviction that the K-o1 yellow is going to be the real collector's item demanding a premium. I plan on using both of mine until I wear a hole in them. It is my only ICL digital (though my wife has a K-10D and between the two of us we have about 2 ME Supers, two K-1000s and and Oly OM-1 film camera). My only other digital is a fuji point and click 14mp that I picked up refurbished for $50.

I think it is easily the best camera in its class (or maybe it is the ONLY camera in its class?) A true mutant (I say that with love). What was it Hunter S Thompson said about Oscar Zeta Acosta? "One of God's own prototypes?" In any case, yeah.We are a three-k-o1 household here. Currently compiling some nice lenses. Maybe I'll post a picture with the TAIR 11A?

Mine...

That's 2 bricks. yellow one has a 50mm 1.4 on it and the new black one has got my new Samyang 35mm 1.4... I use the 18-55 kit on my flycam, thinking of getting a 17-50 2.8 tamron to replace this and slap that on a white brick.... oh an yeah there's a sigma 28-70mm 2.8 on there that used to be my all around, but these primes make for happier footage.

Another pic of mine with The Beast mounted; also, a nice little slimline lens I originally got for the Q, but looks rather nice on the K-01.
