At the current prices, it can be done, with only minor sacrifices in food, clothing, or shelter... (The tricky part was finding a seller who had the Silver 'Yerp' at a reasonable price and took PayPal!)

I think if I might wait another year, these cameras will flood ebay for cheap - or at least that's what I keep saying to myself

I would have passed on the K-01 if it weren't for the ridiculous price. And that would've been a mistake.

Nice combination. Glad you like it, the price is just too sweet now.

Did some small upgrades
I just received the leather strap and the 2 x tele-converter (to be used day time and to transform those 45mm into 90mm when needed ).

Still waiting for that funky Holga flash ...

Looks good. How's the build quality on that plate & legs? Is the hand strap made of nice leather?

Built quality is very good from my point of view; the legs that you open don't think they will break that easily ... unless you really, really pull on them.
The plate is good/hard quality plastics and the bottom part that connects to the camera has rubber.

Leather is very nicely built and very soft ... I like it .

The only bad thing about it that I would see, is the plate/stand. Because is very wide, it covers the battery cover so when I need to recharge/replace battery I have to remove the plate.
Easy to do ... but some might find it a nuisance.

Thanks. It sounds like some good kit. I just ordered a Gordy strap the other day. I'm going to give it a try, but I'll keep this in mind.

Been a while since I posted to PF...having fun with my K-01 these days so hope to post a bit more these days.

Here is the K-01 versus my old SuperProgram with wide-angle lenses. (Sorry for the low quality P&S images...).

They make a nice visual contrast-and-compare with their not disimilar black/silver colour schemes and similar-but-different boxy constructions.

Really enjoying my new K-01! Works well with Gordy's Strap!

Thanks Nitro!

I'm just noticing the number of K-01s with a single hand strap.
It looks like the next improvement for the K-02 might be D-ring lugs like the K-5.
