I'm liking the yellow. maybe I'll call it "Big Bird" now I would trade my black K5 for a silver one.

I kinda like the nickname, "The Brick". I opted for yellow, too. I think it's kinda cool!

I just ordered my yellow K-01 at Adorama. It's back order so I have to wait for at least another week before I can flaunt my yellow brick

Unfortunately the discount price here in Portugal was only for the DAL 18-55 kit, so I have to make do with the original 40mm pancake.
Focus peaking really works, exposure is good and even AF is faster than with my K20D. What's not to like!...

Image P00001, reversed. The DA70 lives up to its focal length, at least 70% of the time it's on the camera

I'm still learning how to grip this thing...

Hi all,

Wasn't sure if I should post in introductions, or the What Did I Get for Xmas thread, or here... Got my very first Pentax a few days ago a xmas present to myself.

I couldn't resist the amount of IQ per $$ (even though I "just" got the $416 deal at B&H rather than the unbelievable Groupon deal). I'm hoping to use this camera with legacy lenses, including some Tamron Adaptalls that I inherited from my father. I'm a n00b when it comes to Real Photography, but looking forward to learn, and especially interested in doing long exposure photography. Anyway, here are a couple of pics of the camera - taken with the SO's brand new... Canon G15. (Sorry.)

I've ordered the yellow since it's the most out there, but looking at these I quite like the white. I like the white on black contrast especially with the buttons on the back, plus the dials and buttons on top and of course the lenses. I expect the grips won't show dirt as much as the yellow either. I guess we all would have liked more colour options, but looking at the 3 variants, I find each has a definite character, not unlike 3 siblings, all looking quite alike but unique in their own style. They all look quite classy with old glass or the black limiteds.
