Pentax K-01 LCD Screen

Hi Folks. Just bought a Pentax K-01. And have been playing with it for some time. While the image quality is great, one thing I noticed was that the image on the LCD screen seems a little wavy ... somewhat like the old TV screens in the 70s ( or like a 100K dot screen). Is this normal? Do I need to adjust settings somewhere?

Grateful for a response.

Cheers

I have not seen such a thing, my image sits quite still. Is this replaying shots or just in live/composition mode?

Thanks for the replies. This is only in live view/ composition mode. Maybe I should return ... Just in case.

return or repair

Mine does not do this. Where did you buy it from?? If you like it, you could also send it to get repaired with an RMA under warranty (quite a hassle for a cheap camera). If you return it, make sure you mark it "defective" on the RMA so that they do not foist this onto another customer as "like new".

On page 30 in the K-01 manual Flicker Reduction is discussed under the Caution section. In the Set-up Menu you can cut down on screen flicker by setting the power frequency to that used in your region. I have no idea if this will help, just remember seeing it in the manual.

Mine gets wavy, I'm guessing dropping resolution and refresh rates, only during autofocus. It's absolutely gorgeous the rest of the time.

How much lighting is there? Is it the camera amping the signals so you can still see, creating noise?

That may be the case. It was most noticeable in low light.
