What do you mean ? One of the girds has a big X right across the screen, isn't that diagonals ?
A centered X? That would be the the rule of diagonals for a square frame.

Yeah, composing in BW is nice too. Add 1:1 BW and your a total photo hipster lol.
Hehe...

That's how I often shoot my wife's RX100, 1:1 B&W. I have it on a memory setting. She doesn't know how to get out of the setting so she always gets pissed-off with me when I forget to set it back!

I've taken to going 1:1 with my point and shoot after my K-x went down. Usually either black and white or in 'retro' mode.

I find it rather fun and have gotten some really interesting results shooting that way.

Oh, and FWIW, one of the biggest DURRRRRRR moments is when you have the camera set to shoot 1:1 and you turn the camera to take a shot in portrait orientation. I've done that more times then I care to think about.

What about those of us that rediscovered B&W but were shooting it back before Al Gore invented electricity?

Why, a Retro-Hipster, of course!

Just don't tell anyone!

What I actually do with the K-01 is place the focus point in the upper right third and then if I want to move it to the upper left third I just rotate the camera 90 degrees counter-clockwise. Much faster than tapping buttons.

I like it! That goes for my Raybans too! Suddenly they're hip (they always have been but some people seem to have only recently discovered them)

They are indeed all the rage. I think it was about the time the flooded the 2nd shops.

I for one love mine. :P

Also.. I've taken to keeping some duct tape handy to leave over the LCD screen of my K10d for some 1:1 frame lovin' Just for putting over the sides to see if I nailed what I was going for.
