Obviously the picture is wrong for the product described. I saw it and thought how I never considered how sexy the black K-01 looked before. Overstock needs to get their act together. I bet if the K-01 sold better at the beginning and Pentax didn't cut off the line we would have more color options like this.

821euro.. not much more expensive than what they actually sell for over here, but still, thats more than a K-30..

And I really wish Pentax makes a K-02 with the same basic shape, only without the rubber (replace it with plastic or leather, or offer different choices) and more expected colours (all black, retro metallic silver with black stripe, stuff like that)

Yes, Illdefined did the mockup to point out that a lot of the K-01 criticism was because it did not have a conservative look, thus the all black model. I think its hillarious that Overstock stole that photo for their sales department.

or if someone wants to void some warranties, just buy a black and a white one (considering how cheap they are now) and swap the top parts. Now you got a full black and a full white (err.. silver/white)

Yes I knew someone made a mock-up in the forums but couldn't find it. It is a great editing job; it looks like an official product to me.

I have a hard time making my mind up between the yellow and the white k-01 so I always found this to be a compromise:

Not brave enough to try that on a non used model. Maybe if I could find one to experiment with - perhaps eventually a one hundred dollar used one even if it had an items such as a damaged sensor.

Before someone voids their warranty actually trying this, I'm afraid a swapped-part black K-01 would not look that good - the black paint on the Pandatrooper has a smooth finish, and that on the black body has a 'pebbled' texture. You can kind of see it in the mock-up picture, but it's obvious in person.
