Am I blind? Not seeing shutter count

I've tried PhotoMe, Opanda and the forum's online checker, Check Shutter Count & Camera Manufacture Date Online - EXIF Reader

Nothing seems to show the shutter count of any unedited straight off the camera image.

I'm curious because I've only had the camera since Tuesday (12th), taken roughly two dozen shots since the 13th to get the feel of the camera without even looking at the file names, but now that I look, the latest file is IMGP6817.JPG !

Is that right? Clearly I can't shoot sixty eight hundred photos in a few days

Ctrl-F "Shutter count". Use it wisely. It says 91.

Said I was blind didn't I

But for goodness sakes!! I was looking down the list alphabetically... lol..
Anyway, I haven't taken anywhere near 91 shots, guessing there must have been at least 60+ on the clock when I received it..

Thanks

Sorry, I don't see shutter count in PhotoMe (latest version and updated) for the K-01 or the Q.
I don't even see it for the K-7 or the *istDS. I've loaded RAW and JPG, no shutter count entry.
Yet I do see it for some Nikon D90 and D7000 photos I have from a friend, so I know I'm not being blind again...

On my Q, PhotoMe does not show the shutter count. I needed to use the utility here on the Forum - and where it went and how you get to it right now - I don't know - I can't find it right now - but its here somewhere...

Fairly standard in that the factory will do a number of test shots on most cameras before they are shipped. 60 seems high, but I hear the norm is around 40, so not to much of a deviation.

The latest beta version of PhotoMe works for my K-01 RAW files. Not for JPG.

I second the idea of using CTRL-F.

If you stick a card in that has images from a different Pentax camera it starts the count with the highest number file on the card. Your card has been through a camera somewhere that has that many photos, or through several cameras that have just added to it. It makes it hard to know your shutter count from the file name, but it makes duplicate file names less likely.

Pretty sure I formatted it in the camera because it shows as K-01 in Explorer and only has photos from that camera on it.

Once the count gets increased from any card it stays that way. It could have been another card that did it. I've never looked to see if it can be reset. My Q shows over 5000 shots by the file name even with a freshly formatted card because I used one from my K10D in it without erasing it first. And by the way, you don't even have to take a single shot with the card. The camera reads the count as soon as the card is inserted and before you format it.
