K-01 and a Pentax 645 A-type manual focus lens -- need advice
On page 232 of the manual, it says that you can use Tv mode with an A-type lens. But when I put a 645 'A' lens on, all I can use is Av and M. If I put the mode dial on P or Tv, it just goes to Av.
What this is about -- I want to take pictures of airplanes. That means a high shutter speed, and a hurried snapshot, with the camera pre-set. But there's no way to directly set the shutter speed (unless I use M, which I don't want to do). So what I'm doing is, in Av mode:
-- I move the aperture ring off A, so I can set the aperture myself.
-- Set the ISO to 200 or 400.
-- Approximately control shutter speed by changing the aperture or ISO, or both. It will change some as I move the camera, but still be fast enough unless the light changes dramatically.
-- Put the lens on hyperfocal distance for the aperture chosen, like f/8.
Is this about it, or does anyone know a way to get into Tv mode with an A-type lens?
