Is this a good deal, and will it work with the K-01?

I checked the K-01 Lens Guide but didn't find this one referenced.
Will it work on my K-01, and is it worth the $$?
Thanks in advance!

If it is coming with a Canon adapter make sure the diaphragm stop down lever has not be removed.

I have this lens

and use it on my K-01. Works great for stills and movies although I'm still figuring out how to use A- and M- lenses with movies.

The A- lenses are really nice to use because you get almost all the automatic features of the camera except autofocus and auto-focal-length for SR (IIRC, that has to be entered manually for A- and M- lenses if you use SR).

For prime A- lenses, this isn't much of a problem because the camera will ask you for the focal length the first time it realizes there's an A- lens on it. For zooms, it doesn't work so well because the SR doesn't track the lens focal length automatically.

Check the price against what you'd pay on e-b-a-y and used from the big stores e.g. KEH.

I regularly use an A35~105/3.5 ZOOM on my K-01 (and K10D). I split the difference and input the value (70) since I usually keep the lens near there anyway. If I'm going to stay at 35 or 105 the whole time I use a prime.

I bought one of those from KEH a couple of weeks ago, and have been very happy with the results on the K-01. Very easy to use. As mentioned, it does ask for focal length when turned on after the lens has been attached. Focusing is very good - so far I haven't needed focus peaking to be able to focus it.

I have the same lens, not having the proper fiscal length setting made the SR worse the one time I did a test run.

I am using a 50mm SMC-M f/1.7 on my K-o1 and it is probably my favorite lens despite the crop factor. Have a look. I think these are some of my better shots with that lens on the K-o1. They are not all in perfect focus as I am still learning to use hyper-focal zones, but they are representative of what this lens can do

Some nice shots above..

Jump on it OP.. Getting a 50mm manual lens was the best purchase I've made since the K-01
Just research a little, learn how to use the green button and read this thread - https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-k-01/210108-metering-using-m-lenses-k-01-a.html

Heaps of helpful members here.

Wile this isn't an f1.7.. I feel it's just as nice.. An Asahi M 50mm f2.0
