What do the specs matter? You're not supposed to touch it.

It's handmade by German Gnomes. You're not even supposed to breath on it.

I can see a potential market for converting K-01 bodies to take Leica lenses. There's probably less of a market for replacing the APS-C sensor with a 135 format sensor, to take full advantage of them.

Ever use a rangefinder? There is your answer.

The big question is why buy Leica when you can have a Fuji xpro1...a more apt comparison since the Fuji has similar build quality, an optical viewfinder, and will mount Leitz glass.

Interesting idea, but not possible. The registration distance for Leica M is significantly less than for Pentax K.

'cept the K-01 is no GT-R. The more appropriate analogy would be to my Altima 3.5 Coupe.

Nice car and fast, but different league and different purpose...

That one comes with a viewfinder ... I think a Jeep Wrangler is more appropriate

He's going by sensor specs. I guess if we want, we could say it's closer to a higher end Mustang, but definitely not your Altima. Unless you decided to put a RB26DETT engine into your Altima.

You need a camera that costs as much as a car to mount lenses that cost as much as a house.

Guys, have a sneaking suspicion that the OP was a rhetorical question.
Why buy a Leica? Because of that red dot on it.

Why buy a Leica?

Because Leica's are made by magical photographic fairies riding unicorns living on an island of clouds surrounded by an ocean of dreams.

Na Horuk, you can buy the actual M-series Leica red dot badge part for $20 or less online so "the red dot" isn't the source of the insane price:

I blame the high prices on import taxes and levies to offset the lost wages of local camera gnomes and lens trolls.
