40 Limited is almost always glued to the camera.
I've recently picked up a 17 f/4 Takumar, which is surprisingly small and light, which goes with me when I need something wider.
And another new addition is the Tamron 90 2,8 Macro, which I'm really liking and will probably be spending lots of time on my K-01.

The new firmware improves the AF speed greatly.
Thanks! Unfortunately, I was going to snag a used one from B&H but now it's gone and a new one is just a little out of my price range. I guess I will just have to keep an eye out for another one.

Unless you need the water seal the Tamron 90 macro 2.8 is as good as or better, and a lot less money.

Thanks! I might look into the Tamron. Do you know if the AF plays nice with the K-01?

Just got the FA43 for my K-01, replaced my 40xs. So far, I'm loving it, AF is surprisingly only slightly slower than the 40xs, the AF doesn't seem to hunt as much in lowlight which is a plus and the whole setup feels a lot better balanced. I can see the FA43 living on the K-01.

I'll second this opinion. The DFA100mm is so stealthy and nimble--a pleasure to use with or without mirror.
I have also used the K-01 quite succesfully with the DFA100mm + F 1.7AF TC combination. Sweet!

My favorite K-01 pairing is with the DA 35mm f/2.8 Macro

I've only had my K-01 for about a week. So far:
1. 40mm XS
2. DA 10-17
3. 50mm 1.7
Haven't yet had a chance to try it out with my Tamron 90mm 2.8 macro.

Lens with K-01

I was surprised how much I have gravitated to leaving the DA12-24 on my K-01. It's not nearly as heavy as the DA*16-50 and its like having a DA15, DA21 and a 24mm all in one. Outside of that I have a 28mm f2.0 that I like on it and the DFA 100 macro WR. But the DA12-24 surprised me because just by looking you would think it wouldn't be a great fit but it is and the 36mm equivalent focal length is where I do much of my film shooting 35-40mm on 35mm film

The wifey usually uses the Samsung D-Xenon 18-55.

When I am using it, I usually use these lenses:
Pentax DA 10-17
Pentax FA 50mm 1.4
Pentax DA-L 55-300
Samsung 18-55
Vivitar 55mm 2.8 macro

Those lenses are whatr I keep in my bag. Have some more lenses I occasionaly use when I have time.

I bought (when prices dropped) my K-01 to test the sensor/software and to use for tripod mounted macro and landscape work. So far, I have only used it with my DFA 100 Macro; good combination in conjunction with a Hoodman loupe and stable tripod' Haven't had a chance to do any landscapes; expect to use it with a Sigma 10-20. I really don't envision using it for anything else as I much prefer using a viewfinder for most work.

You post gave me the impetuous to get a 12-24 rather than something to replicate my outgoing 17-70 which I'm leaving behind with my Ex's Kx

40 LTD is the main lens for walking around. Aside from that, I am particularly fond of the vintage Pentax 'M' and M42 lenses on this camera - they're just so pretty and have such a nice feel and the K-01 works very well with them...they also look really cool on the camera!
