How is the AF of your 35-70? Mine is atrocious on the K01 which is a huge shame as it is so tiny and light!
The only AF problem I've had with my F 35-70 is a "dead zone" at about 18" / 500mm where it's too close for 70mm and too far for Macro/closeup mode, causing the camera to hunts, but I've learned to anticipate it and adjust accordingly.

Recently I use my Sigma 17-70 f/2.8-4.5 most often on my K-01.
Previously using the DA-40XS, but I'm missing the wide angle thus the switch

I thought AF didn't work in video mode? Was I wrong? (I don't have K-01, but thinking of getting one.)

The K-01 does not support full-time continuous AF, but you can summon AF as needed by pushing the AF button. This is not very elegant, but has helped me a few times, since the focus peaking feature is not available while you are recording video. (You can use focus peaking before you start video, but as soon as you start rolling, it goes away.)

The Voigtlander Nokton 58mm f/1.4 I get 80% more keepers now, this is an MF beast. Makes MF lenses glow like diamonds.

I use the K-01 mainly for studio product shots so the lenses I used the most on it are:

1) SMC-M 50/4 macro (40%)
2) Elicar 90/2.8 macro (40%)
3) SMC-M 100/4 macro (20%)

I find the F 35-70mm to have pretty darn quick autofocus on mine.

Hardly a surprising line-up, if your main subject is studio products Some *really* nice glass you have there....

I just got a used copy of the Tamron 17-50 2.8 so.

1. Tamron 17-50 walk around
2. Pentax M 100 4.0 Macro for mostly macro photography.
3 Vivitar Ser 1 70-210 Macro which will be replaced with Pentax DA or DAL 55-300 which would be my # 2 lens.

What kind of adaptor do you use?
I could kick my self for getting rid of my film stuff about 7 years ago including Voightlander lens

I have the Voigtlander made for K-mount so no need for an adapter. Sorry for your loss specially now that adapters and mirrorless cameras are able to effortlessly adapt them with stunning results.

40 XS but - question

So far, I only have (and love) the 40mm XS that came with my K-01 but I'm trying to decide between the 35mm f/2.8 macro and the 35mm f/2.4 AL. Any input on those two lenses? It would be nice to have the macro ability but the price difference is tempting and I'm not sure what the other differences might be. Thanks in advance!

I would go for the 35mm f/2.8 macro limited. Build quality (not plasticky), looks cool, amazing landscape lens as well (not all macros are good for infinity shots) But you might find that a wide angle (like 15mm f/4) would be better to choose because 35mm is very close to 40mm or probably the 100mm WR macro if the macro feature interest you most.

K-01 focus peaking, lens choice

Because of focus peaking, I love the K-01 for my manual focus lens--Helios 44, Pentax A 50mm 1.7 mostly. Focussing and resulting image quality are excellent. For AF, I use Pentax 24-90 and Tamron 17-50 2.8. Otherwise, I use any lens I please on occasions when the lighting situation is not such that I cannot easily use live view and focus peaking features. I would be nice to come up with some sort of live-view hood to shield the screen from glare that makes it difficult to use in bright sunlight situations.
