I have quite a hard time focusing with the lack of (visible) points and the green square just goes to focus wherever it wants.. =(
Use one of the other focus modes - spot focus will give you the control you seek.

Hi Rob, always used the spot focus on my K100DS but tried to avoid it on my K-01.
I guess, I'll be using that again..just focus then recompose the photo again I guess..like the usual.
Thanks

There's face recognition mode if you're shooting people.

I do know about the face recognition but if it can't see two eyes (profile or side view) it won't recognize the face.
I guess I'll just do the spot focus.
Thanks

I use the Vanguard Biin 8h as a nice small bag for my K-01 + 40mm XS lens. It's my compact grab everyday, take anywhere bag. The K-01/40mm combo fits very nicely and not too tight.

I was playing with the multi point focus the other day and discovered I could tune the shape of the AF area with the scroll wheel. Did you find that function?

Never played with it that much yet and haven't had time to read the user's manual too..which I usually do.
How did you manage to do that Rob..at which setting?

Nice bag smarter, I have found that the samsonite bag I have used on my Canon S3IS before (already sold it) can be used on the K-01 too!
Fits snug with the 40mm XS lens.
How much did you get that bag for?

See page 93 of the manual. Turning the e-dial will change the size and shape of the auto focus area.

At last my K-01 arrived, so my next problem was how to transport it...(so my wife wouldn´t notice that I bought another new toy)
I wanted a small bag for the K-01, and my two most used glasses 35mm ltd and 70mm ltd. After some research I took the chance and ordered the Kata 433, and I think it does the job rater well.
With the 40mm std on the K-01 there is room under it for the 70mm, and enough space next to it for the 35mm. And if i swap to one of the other the 40mm can go in the side pocket.

I paid € 15,- for it in The Netherlands, I still like it a lot, but I use it with a better, wider neck strap which I already had.

Yesterday I also ordered a Herringbone Papa's pocket mini on Ebay, it seems fine for the K-01 with my large Sigma 18-50mm HSM/OS lens.
