I recently discovered how the K-01 LCD Display was polarized to reduce reflections when taking photos in sunny Hawaii. I flipped the camera 90 deg. to take a Portrait framed image, and all of a sudden, the screen turned completely black. Ho my gosh I though, something just broke ! Turned it back to Landscape and it was back on. Tried that a couple time before I realized... duuuu... I was wearing polarized glasses !

Hello... that's how LCD displays are built, try turning a polarizer in front of a TV - magic, it turns off!

lol yeah, same thing happened to me. Now I dont take my sunglasses when using the K-01

I had a student that thought his camera was malfunctioning because the viewfinder was black - he was looking through the viewfinder with his polarised sunglasses on while using a polariser on his lens.

Indeed. I had a exactly same experience. I was complaining to my wife that my k-01 got broken when shoot vertically.
