The K1000 is listed as 49mm thick, the ME-Super 49.5. The register distance is 45.46mm, leaving ~3.5/4mm for back, bits, & bobs. The K-01 is 59mm thick, leaving ~13.5mm. From the teardown pictures I've been able to find and measure, the sensor/SR chassis looks to be right at 1cm thick. That would make the back wall/LCD just about the same as the back on a film camera.
For comparison, the K-x, K-r and K-30 are 64mm thick (measured from mount to LCD, excluding the flash overhang & eyepiece). The istD (no SR) is 61mm, and the K100D (1st generation SR) is 66mm.
