Pentax K01 and AF on old sigma lens

You're making me want to try out my manual 1.4 SMC!

The only problem is I learn my lenses so i don't have to look at the camera for specific shots... e.g. I can hold the camera and take it from my waste while getting the person to look up at my face (creates a "candid" looking shot I think)... Nonetheless, I'll try it out with the manual

For that technique, you'll probably need more depth of field
than you'll get with a fast fifty below f/2.8.
