Probs med K-01 life view on ext. TV

Hi

I would like to get a life view from the K-01 on an external TV.
I connected the K-01 with a USB-video cable I-AVC7 to the LCD screen.
Life view on the K-01 but nothing on the external screen.

Any idea how to resolve this problem?

Thank you in advance

Greetings
Ralf

You need to plug it in using an hdmi cable.

Thanks, Adam, I thought the HDMI cable is replay only and not for the life view, but I´ll try it

Greetings

K-01 doesn't do HDMI out in live view.
It was (and is) one of the deal breakers for the camera.

Composite video works with live view on the K-01, HDMI is only for replay. Connecting the K-01 to an HDMI monitor automatically kicks the K-01 into playback mode and it will only operate in playback.

OK, HDMI is not the solution for live out.
But what about live out from the USB port? I am a bit confused - I connected the usb-video cable to the cam, but get nothing out. Is there something in the K-01 setup I need to take care about? Cant find anynthing about that in the manual...

Greetings
Ralf

I've been able to connect my TV to the composite video (PC/AV) on my K-01 without any additional setup. Is your LCD NTSC or PAL? There is a setting on the K-01 for video-out; mine was on NTSC by default, but I'm in the US.

Menu | Setup tab - wrench/spanner icon | Tab 2 | Interface options | Video Out

You also need the correct cable to get the composite video out. The part number is listed in the accessories section of the manual.

Yes, NTSC by default, but I am on PAL

The cable is this one here:
I-AVC7 - Videokabel für Pentax K-5 / K-7 / K-r / K-x ... - Kaufen

BTW - what is the difference between MSC and PTP under interface options - USB?

The obvious questions list,..

Yellow plug on Video input?
Correct input selected?

And the less well known question,...
Does your monitor require Audio connections to be in place, for the video to be displayed?

K-01 connected via AV cable (Plug and Play) "live feed" and recording.

Defective cable could be the culprit, perhaps.
