The closest thing to it I have seen is some photos when a guy took apart two K-01s to combine their colour scheme into one all-black.
Its a complicated little machine, jam packed with electronics

Sounds like there's either a spectacular accident story, or a fascinating DIY project ahead here.....sadly, I can't help with a service manual or parts diagram, I stopped repairing my own cameras when there were more circuit boards than gears in them.
