The Yellow Brick is going out for a full spectrum conversion.

I've pulled the trigger and the Yellow Brick is heading out for a full spectrum conversion to Spencers Camera & Photo Digital Camera Infrared (IR) Conversions, Modifications and IR Photography :: About Us. I'm a little nervous, but I think it will be great when done (though goodbye warranty!). I can't want to post the results when I get it back.

Their feedback is pretty good, so I am hopeful. They gaurantee their work too.

Wow, the conversion is as much as the camera costs. I bet you'll have a lot of fun with it though.

I hope it works out for you.....but I've not heard great things about or from them. Since they are just up the road from me and camera repair type shops are in short supply around here I took an older adaptall lens there to have it cleaned and to get some material out from in between some of the lens groups. He said he could do it no problem and we agreed on a time frame since I needed the lens back for a trip I was taking. Turns out he couldn't figure out how to get the lens open, never started working on it, didn't call me to tell me he couldn't do it and almost didn't let me come get it before leaving for my trip so I could still use it as it was. His shop, at the time I went there, was just a corner of a garage off the side of his house, it definitely didn't scream professional camera servicing center to me but what do I know.
If there is an issue, you can send me a Power of Attorney over your camera and I can go do some recon for you

It is back now! I got it back in less than two weeks originally, but somehow the SR system became screwed up, so Spencers had me send it back. They had to order parts a couple times, and finally the entire module (they covered the full repair) and now I have it back. They threw in free sensor cleaning for a year, a warranty, and some other things too. I played around with it some, and here's my cat in full spectrum, taken in low light. It's strange. It's also sharper when not using Prish resizer...
