K01 Does Motocross

I took the K01 with me to a local motocross race and used it with the DA 12-24 to get unusual perspectives. An example photo is below.

Sorry, but it looks as a snapshot to me. You could get an unusual perspective with the DA12-24 if you managed to get really close to the motorcycles. Or from a very low angle near the ground.

I like it.
I notice there's only a small amount of rolling shutter distortion to the wheels of the bike on the right of the shot. I assume Tripod, will you standing on a point lower then the top of the mound?

Actually, the angles that you describe aren't unusual; they are the usual perspectives of the genre. The OP's shot is unusual in that it provides some context for the action.

They would be usual if taken with a telephoto... I donīt know many who use a 12-24 to take such photos, do you? Iīd love to see some.

I like it. Would like it more if cropped top and bottom to give it the semi-pano feel.

this was shot hand held. I was using the K5IIs with telephoto for the normal perspective shots.

Perspective doesnt change with different lenses (field of view does). perspective depends on position/distance relative to the subject.
In this photo, if you crop the motorcycle in the air, you would have the same perspective as if it was taken with a telephoto lens (Just lower resolution due to cropping)

Except the compression of the background would be different with a telephoto. So if he stood back about 200 feet to get the same framing, the background would be very different - and might not tell as much of a story.

Thatīs the opposite case of what I am talking about. I mean perspective changes when you change your position and/or distance relative to the subject. Doesnīt matter if you change your lens or not
