Thank you for your reply.
I have a Super Takumar 50/1.4 (M42) lens with M42 to PK adapter. The method you've described does not work with M42 lenses because k01 camera cannot read the aperture setting, that and/or the pressure plate from the electrical lens connection stops it from being fully manual.
Glealisla, do you have a m42 lens?
Have you tried filming with m42 to PK adapter?

Unfortunately I do not, however from what you are indicating it seems you may need another lens for your video purposes

Not if you press the AE-L straight after pressing the red button it doesn't.
It's the method I've used on several occasions where I didn't have my camcorder to hand.
