Well I aside from not (yet) having an IR remote, the IR won't be able to reach the IR sensor in any case when the camera has a reversed lens and is only a couple inches or so from a surface for macro photography.

A bent sticky note taped close to the IR sensor will bounce the IR signal from behind the camera into the sensor nicely.

It's just seems ridiculous that Pentax don't have a setting to allow a choice of any time value between 2 and 12 seconds.. Two seconds is often not enough for rig/camera vibration to settle before the shot is taken.
If the K-01 had had a cable release port there'd be no issue. Another head scratcher.. Why didn't they add a cable release port to the stupid thing?
