Thinking About FF K-01 .. Say K-01F

As I have bought several A or M lenses and found them fun and useful when used on K-01..., I am thinking it will bring us another world if using these lenses on a full frame K-01 ... say K-01F.

There are many negative comments on K-01, say lack of view finder, fair ergonomics, bad position of green button, low burst rate in raw, fair auto-focus speed and accuracy, not comfortable when using tele-lens, fair focus-peaking ...

How do you think about K-01F?

I don't see why not. Same thing as the K-30/K-01. Full frame just means bigger sensor; if doesn't have to mean the handling has to be different. The only issue might be if they can't fit the sensor in the K-01 body - that would throw the whole form factor off.

So ... bigger than K-01. This may bring/allow a better ergonomics!
Some Pentax users want to upgrade to FF but not available currently. Should it be easier to develop a FF mirrorless than a FF DSLR?

A mirrorless FF body that take K-mount glass and records HD video?
Yes, Please.
Especially if it's recording to ProRes or CinemaDNG Compressed Raw.
If it can cope with recording 4K, that would be nice too.
Or even just if it records 2.5K internally and can output 4K to the HDMI.

And btw, there's no reason why an APS-c sized sensor can't do 4K, so long as it can move the data fast enough.

I use my K-01 on a Tripod or Shoulder Rig more often then I do pure hand held, but I can tell you, the rubber grip makes handheld a lot easier then I expected.

Funny thing on a set, 5D3 owner tries my K-01, wants to know where to get one, especially when she finds out about the pancake lens, rather then having to lug around the 5D3 kit.
Another camera person picks it up when it had a 24mm Sigma prime on the front, and goes "Oh, it's heavier then I thought,"
Good thing I didn't have the 28-200 on the front....

This is very close to being a reality, the announcment is next month. The badge will say "Sony" though, not Pentax.

Sony already got close with the NEX camcorder.

What is suprising to me as an Canon XL-1 owner, is that right when Sony caught up to the interchangable lens camcorder, is right when Canon failed to update the XL-H1s with a tapeless variant.

Pentax users are not averse to manual focus. The Sony will undoubtedly have some sort of peaking. Perhaps not CiF, but certainly peaking. FF lenses a plenty in Pentax land. An adapter is all that's required. We have FA glass. The Sony will almost certainly not have an AA, or have a version that has a non-existent one. Flip screen is likely. It will have an EVF or add on EVF. Likely have on-sensor phase detect for its own lenses. Minolta lenses are cheap and plentiful. Will be compact, likely offer faster operation than the K-01 and have more customizing and dial options.

Same here! Ditto to the max!

If they released a FF mirrorless that would definitely keep me firmly rooted in Pentax land along with all the lovely FF glass that is currently available.
