Add your K-01 Time Lapse here!

Hi all!

As suggested by another member of this forum (chuck_c), let's dedicate this thread for time lapse made with K-01.

And here is a first for the thread:

Hope to see yours soon!

Lovely!

The use of the shadows/rays of light in many of the scenes is very effective.

What kind of rig are you using to pan during your time lapse?

@eliallan That was an incredible sequence! Can't imagine how much time that took. Where was that footage taken? Looks Glacier-esque to my eyes.

I love all these wonderful timelapses, and would like to try it myself with my K-01, but I had one quick question: in your opinion, is it necessary to shoot full resolution to make a timelapse movie? If the final result is going to be an HD video, shooting 16MP per frame seems like overkill, no? Shooting a smaller res (8 or 12MP) could save a lot of space and processing time. Is there a reason to shoot 16MP? Just wondering...

More stuff to put on the testing list

If you don't have to retouch images, there is also a timelapse movie mode.

You're right.
Best to shoot 4mp JPG at 16:9
Even 4Mp is too large for a standard 1080p screen (2Mp).

Interval movie mode isn't as good. You have very little control on the output. I also find it jerky compared to creating your own timelapse from stills.

sunset over la querencia

my first timelapse that i'm satisfied with after a few tests and a number of attempts at finding a suitable workflow (apply edits, crop & resize in rawtherapee, compile mjpeg video in gimp, reencode to mp4 in shotcut to get a reasonable filesize)

Add your K-01 Time Lapse here!

This is time lapse with K-01. The camera is from my friend, I want to buy this great piece of gear from him, but he don't want sell it to me. Along with my K-3 for the "classic" photography that would be perfect combo.
