Edit: looks like the SD card door is still an issue

Are you referring to the rubber flap that covers the SD card door? In the photo it is that which hasn't been correctly pushed back.
The rubber door is not a problem when you know how to push it back correctly. I think laziness is more likely the issue in that photo.
The actual SD card door is behind the rubber flap. It is without any issues.

That must be one heavy SD Card - they needed a Brick to prop it up!

And yes, whoever set up the shot didn't know how / didn't try to close the SD door cover.

The K-01 forum has gotten kind of quiet lately - I think folks (finally) got tired of repeating the debates. It's still one of my favorite cameras...
