I think my K-01 or at least one of them will grow old with me.

Ron, I do too. With a Hoodman loupe gaffer-taped on it, I've got the perfect camera for static subjects.

Earlier today, I read an article about the new Leica Monochrom. It's a good camera, but the K-01 is excellent for B/W also. Just set the screen on Mono, shoot RAW, and you can go to color if the B/W composition doesn't work out. Images are very sharp. The sensor captures lots of shadow details. And maybe best of all, the K-01 is so easy to use. Clear simple controls. Can't miss!

K-01 forever! As long as the subject is standing still, or sort of still. Sports? Action? Oh, no. K-5 etc for that stuff, like Ron Hendriks' beautiful pictures of athletes. But there's a whole world of K-01-acceptable possibilities. This morning, on the coast at Del Mar, California --

A few months ago I bought a K-01 because I was curious and I heard good things about it. Also, as I have a few Pentax K/M/A manual lenses, I was interested in the focus peaking. Generally speaking I am happy with it. Great image quality (better than K5 IMHO). AF is substandard. But then, using manual lenses, who cares about the AF?

Here's one I took of this little aspiring photographer

I'm a new secondhand owner of Pentax K-01. I just bought it for like 3 days ago. I used Pentax Kr before i bought the K01. The main reason i change my Kr to K01 was because I like videographing. The Kr sucks at it.

While many people disagree with the K01's performance, I'd like to say that the K01 is very awesome! The focusing speed is awesome for a mirrorless( I don't see any problem here, except for a dark place, I take advantages of the focus peaking) The K01 itself is using firmware V1.04.

It is a very pleasing mirrorless camera, and I don't care about the size. All I care is that I'm free from Pentax Kr's sucks liveview mode which will overheat soon when in use for videotaking.

At the end, I'm very satisfied since I bought it at price approx $170

Thats why I bought mine new around two years ago.
You can get some very good result, once you get a grip on it's limitations.

Happy us. I still have my fine yellow fellow.

On my holiday in Cornwall last may.

With my smartphone made this image of K-01 in action.

Yep, the rubber flappy doors on my K-01s are all flapping along just fine.

You are twice as discerning as I - I have only two. But they're both black. My rubber doors are robust but my Mode dials wander periodically.

The mode dial on my black (I think) K-01 worked its way loose once. Fortunately, it wasn't out in the field, and all I had to do was remove the old glue and stick it back on with a blob of silicone.

Ya, I was one of those that was really worried about that when I bought mine, that is some seriously good rubber (or what ever it is).
I use my k01 a lot, the only real 'issue' I have with mine is seeing the LCD in bright light, like has been talked about a lot. I love the light weight and everyone behind my back saying, 'what kind of camera is that' type comments, LOL! I take the k50 out when the light is bright!
