I was just thinking, I do have one regret on my K01 purchase, that I didn't get the 40mm lens along with it, it wasn't that much more money but at the time I didn't think I would use it, now I wish I would have bought it long with the body.

I'd still use mine occasionally if the internal battery hadn't died (so I have to reset the date every time I turn it on).... Happy birthday Brick!

More than 350 shots on my Panda during last weekend.
Still going strong and still handling beautifully.

@Doundounba my internal battery has died, so what?
I always sync my camera and smartphone clock anyway before going out shooting, so that all pictures fall in their correct place in the timeline, and I can geotag easily with a GPX file.

I am on my second one as well. My white one has a stuck shutter so I picked up a black one with less than 1000 clicks!

Ergonomically this is one of my favorite cameras. I don't have any trouble with the controls and once set up it works great for me. It just feels to me. Though not the latest sensor or technology I love the pics I get out of it.

Not my only Pentax but I still use it. I take it on trips as a backup to my DSLR.

Damn. Looking at all these K-01's makes me wonder why I never got one way back when. Then, conversely, it also makes me wish I was in Japan ... so I could get a blue-and-white 'Smurf' K-01. Double damn.

I'm only curious about one thing - someone mentioned the (dreaded?) internal-battery-dying-phenomenon - which (apparently) forces one to reset the date & time, every time one turns it on --- has this happened to a lot of K-01axians? And....if-and-when-it-happens....is there any known cure?

It isn't the end of the world. My internal battery (or is it a capacitor?) will hold the date as long as I change the battery in about twenty seconds, but I wouldn't spend money to replace that part on this old a camera.

Ya, the date reset once when I left a battery out the whole time I was charging it. I usually just swap another battery in when charging a spare and then there is no issue.

Happy NINTH Birthday to the K-01!

It's that time again! (yes, I'm reusing old pictures - I blame 2020).

My K-30 is seeing more use recently, but I still use my K-01 a lot.
And guess what? Six years and almost-a-half later, the infamous "rubber flap" is still good as new.
