Yes, you should get a K-01. It will be perfect for your manual focus lenses, and the green button metering is excellent.
Hold it like Monochrome suggests, and wear a wide-brimmed hat. The LCD will be reasonably visible in any light.
It *feels* considerably smaller than a DSLR, even if the numbers may not bear this out. Anyone who has slipped it in and out of a camera bag a hundred times will understand.

Well, now we have a new way to describe Movie SR. It induces a heat-haze effect
It was 30+ degrees. Not bad for the end of March.

I shot some around Sunset with the same lens yesterday, turning SR on and off to see if it can smooth out the vibrations from fingers touching the lens for focus on locked off frames, will have to see if it can cope, not expecting it to. I think if I use this lens on a short film or the like, it's going to have to be for locked off shots, or servo driven movements to eliminate vibrations, same as in broadcast 'box' lenses used for sporting events.

Describing the cmos jello as 'like heat haze' is probably an accurate method, ditto the SR wobbles.

Edit: for those that aren't aware, this is a Box lens, shown with camera, CCU and remote.

Size differences

Source: Compare camera dimensions side by side

I think the size differences for a K mount digital camera are pretty significant. Especially when comparing your (OP's) K-5 vs a K-01.

And having both a yellow and black brick, I'd say the black looks smaller than the yellow. They say black is slimming right?

The silver bits are what make the black K-01 look so good....

What I hadn't realized until I got my second K-01 is that the black with silver bits atop make it look even more boxy when looking at it from the front. The silver kind of disappears in my mind and all that's left is a black rectangle. The yellow grip on my first brick throws off the illusion of a more rectangular aesthetic.

I've seen some black-on-black ninja bricks floating around the internets

There was a thread about this, including a convincing mock-up. There's also been some color hacking on the K-01, but as far as I know, it only dealt with the lugs and the rubber grip. We do know the mode dial is only glued on too... The most complex part of a full black hack would be the flash housing, and sorry, no link for that one...

K-01 perception

After using the K-01 fairly regularly over one year, my view is that it is an inexpensive way to obtain K-5 image quality at the bargain basement closeout prices. It would also be nice for video, although that is not one of my frequent uses. It is also amusing to use it on occasion when I bump my nose on the screen, forgetting that it has no viewfinder. It sets on my camera shelf a lot as I reach past it to pick up the K-7 or the K-5II.
