I have just upgraded the firmware on my K-01 and I think I am regretting it....AF on my lenses seem much more slower than what I have on firmware 1.04.....is there any way I can revert to older version?

Edit: I have just reverted back to v1.04 by re-flashing the v1.04 firmware on the SD card and it works to my surprise. The AF is now back to normal. When I tried v1.05 just now in a dimly lit interior, my K-01 refuse to focus in several spots in the room. Reverting back to v1.04 and retrying the AF, the camera seem to be able to grab focus pretty quickly....so unless I have a bad K-01, I would say this is not a good firmware update, for me at least.

I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing any slowing down on the new firmware in the AF.

Well if that's true I am definitely not updating my firmware. I'm fairly happy with my current AF.

Is there anywhere I can get firmware ver 1.04? I don't want to install 1.05 because of what I have read here and never updated to 1.04 or 1.03? I would just like to get a version of 1.04. Thanks.

As of this moment, it's still available on the Pentax UK site:

Pentax K-01 - RICOH IMAGING UK LTD.

I won't get a chance to compare the two until this weekend.

Thanks for that info. I did a search and found it on a drivers website and was able to upload and then upgrade.

Please don't let my experience be the main driver to determine if you should or should not upgrade the firmware on your k-01....what I am experiencing could well be an isolated case so I could be the only one with bad luck here....

By all means, if you have bought the HD PENTAX-DA AF REAR CONVERTER 1.4X AW then update the firmware. If not there's no real need to.
The improved stability and performance only relates to using the camera if you have the HD PENTAX-DA AF REAR CONVERTER 1.4X AW fitted otherwise without the firmware the camera may not be reliable when using the adapter.

Started another thread before I saw this one.

So far I'm not seeing a great deal of difference, maybe, some slightly better ISO 1600 and 3200 performance in video modes, in settings with enough light for correct exposure.

On AF, and admittedly I don't use it very often, I think the performance at the long end of my two AF zooms is no different, but my gut says if feels faster at the wide end, especially on my Sigma 28-80 Aspheical.
I don't have any AF primes to test with.

I updated just now and I don't see any difference in AF performance or anything else.
I've tested (no scientific test, just some ordinary everyday usage) with my limiteds (21, 35, 40)
