Firmware v1.05 changes?

So the firmware has been out about 6 hours, and on my K-01 about an hour,...

Beyond the changes listed on the Ricoh site, there doesn't appear to be any improvements, nothing from the firmware wish list spotted so far, HDMI still moves us to playback mode, the data rate for video hasn't be changed

Some quick and dirty tests, and I may very well be wrong, but ISO 1600 looks a little cleaner when given enough light for correct exposure. 1600 and 3200 get noisy and blotchy fairly quickly as they get under exposed, but even 3200 with a KM 50mm F2 prime seemed useable between f4 and f2.

Might have to rig up a Redhead and my dimmers and see just how much light is needed for correct exposure in the higher ISO ranges.

These would be major functionality updates which would not be hidden under the guise of Improved stability for general performance.
If firmware updates don't result in increased sales of accessories for a discontinued model there is little to zero motivation for Ricoh to spend time adding value to it.
This is why the MX-1 hasn't had any firmware updates, there are no accs for it [unlike the Oly version which has because it has an accessory shoe, right ]

Unlike the majority of the photo industry, Ricoh has a history of providing firmware updates to older camera models, notably to their GR digital line (and these are compact cameras with non-interchangeable lenses).

Cheers,

Ricoh are only recent to the Pentax landscape - but again, the GR Digital has a hot shoe (accessory shoe).
