K01 for Wildlife?

Well you likely already know the answer to the question as the K01 is not a wildlife camera. However, this past weekend I decided to bring along the K01 for some mountain hiking to save weight. To further save weight I selected the DA 55-300 L lens. For wide angle and macro I used the MX-1.

So how did the K01 work? As expected, it only works for static wildlife and is not useful for moving wildlife. For static subjects it is a useful camera as the example pictures illustrate. However, I missed many shots by not having a DSLR with me. Would I bring the K01 with me again? Not likely. The K5 or K3 is not that much heavier than the K01. The DA 55-300 worked quite well and will be used as a weight saving lens.

Dale

I put a big LCD viewer on my K-01. For my manual focus long lenses on a tripod, it is now my preferred solution as I can nail focus perfectly.
