K-o1 firmware for Raw video?

would it be feasible to ask Pentax to update the firmware of K-01 to save video in Raw format too, or that is imposible because the K-01 hardware can't support it?

I don't think pentax really care about video which is a shame.

I don't think Pentax will do this. Maybe with some kind of firmware hack, it could be done. But there are also hardware restrictions, like CPU speed, buffer size, write speed..

It would be a good thing if Pentax got interested in video, though. The K-01 is a great camera and shoots very decent video. Even if its CPU isn't capable of 4K, what about the CPU of the Z? Or of the next generation DSLR?

My hope would be that someone like Shodan could hack Pentax cameras to improve the video output. Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to enable focus peaking in video or, mechanical SR or, bump up the quality of the footage.

Even if they could do it, there's virtually no chance they would, since the K-01 has been long since discontinued. But it would be nice if they did this in a future body, or at least left hooks in the newer hardware to allow it to be enabled via firmware in the future.

Pentax/Ricoh have missed a real opportunity I feel. But on the other hand I also suspect there's a good reason why their video mode [in all models] is only half baked.

Searching the web I found an e-mail address of Ricoh-Pentax Hong Kong, they don't provide many communication options other than repair departments after my quick search.
