Thank you

And if anyone is curious, I got the banana brick edition of this camera I figured it'd be the least intimidating looking camera for street shooting.

I think most of us who have the yellow refer to it as the bumblebee.

What lenses do you have?

Just the 18-55 kit lens. I'm thinking of picking up a couple of prime manual focus lenses for the good value.

I do however wanna save up for one of the sigma lenses with in lens stabilization for video.

Congratulations! My wife has yellow brick / bumble bee. I have a K-5 but when we are travelling I have borrowed the k-01 a few times because its a great camera!
Sure the focus is slower than mirrored DSLRs but its generally fast enough, accurate and it also does a great job with auto exposure. Underrated camera in my opinion.

I think you would enjoy using a fast prime with it!

Hey, welcome! Nice of you to join!
Yeah, prime lenses is where the K-01 can really shine. The 40mm XS is a nice place to start, because it is very affordable for such a good lens! Oh, and Pentax cameras have in-body stabilization, so in-lens stabilization is not required. If you use in lens, make sure the other SR is disabled, since they fight each other if they are both activated. Some say in-lens stabilization is better than in-body for long lenses (tele), but not so much for wide angle. Though, it is hard to find wide angle lenses with in lens stabilization anyway

For pictures I know, but it's next level horrible for any free hand shooting in video I've seen

Ah, the problem is that after the K-5, all Pentax DSLRs use digital stabilization for videos, instead of the mechanical SR that is used for stills. Add the typical CMOS video artefacts, and.. yeah, you are right

In the name of correctness let's not keep calling the K-01 a DLSR, it isn't.
