Hmm, K-7 perhaps (dslr before K-5) or Q7 (Q camera before Q-s1)? I know nothing of a K07.

The K-7 is an older camera, older sensor in a WR body with dual dials and a lot of controls incl an optical viewfinder.

The K-01 is a newer entry level camera, with a newer (better) sensor but lesser control.

I have both. At low ISO, I would prefer the K-7 generally because of the more controls. But the IQ of the K-01 is superior generally. At medium to high ISO, the K-01 is a better camera.

The comparison is not really fair unless you are on a budget. It is like comparing apple and orange. The K-01 is cute, has a great IQ and great body colours. The K-7 is a workhorse, robust, sturdy and a super optical view finder

I have a K-3 and I use nowadays either my K-01 or K-7 as a backup. Generally I tend to prefer the K-7 as a backup because of the greater level of controls on the K-7.

My 5 cents.

Erm, one is a DSLR the other isn't, I think would be the key distinction

I have both cameras. The K-01 does not have a viewfinder, the K-7 does. K-7...less ISO range options ranging from 100 to 6400 (extended sensitivity), K-01 100-25,600. K-7 much noisier than K-01 at higher ISOs. K-7 faster autofocus, at least based on my experience. The K-01 is more unique looking especially if you can get it in a color other than black.

I bought is parallely to my K7 because of the better high-Iso-capabilities - and it was agood bridge (for 1 year) before I got the K3.
Since then it is my choice when I need someting more compact - specialy with the DA40XS or for AL the Sigma 30/1,4.
