However, considering how the K-01 already has a funky shape because of its need to provide proper distance for the K-mount, I suspect that they could make minor thickness changes in the curently-thin areas, rearrange the innards, add an EVF, and still end up with a camera having an EVF within the general dimensions of the K-01.

With respect, that's ifs and maybes. This is about the size of two cameras that actually exist.
