K-01 normal behaviour ?

I recently purchased a used K-01 from a Pentax member and we finally got some nice weather for me to try it out. I noticed when I attached my DA*55 the aperture would start making adjustments when I moved the camera around. Some of my limited lenses would do the same but not as bad. My DA*16-50 and DA18-135 would not change. Is this normal or do I have a problem?

Is it Auto/Program/Tv mode?
It would change the aperture dependant on the light.
Sorry if I don't understand your question.

That's normal behavior in live view (and not just the K-01). It is protecting the sensor in bright light by partially closing the aperture. When autofocusing, or if using the magnify function it will open up all the way. (At least it is supposed to -- I have found it problematic on some third-party lenses.) However, if you are manually focusing and you don't make a point to make sure the aperture is fully open, it can throw off your focus.

I know exactly what you're describing, I'd say that's normal behavior. I have the same combo (DA*55 / K-01) and the lens behaves as you described - (Aperture keeps "winking" while moving around). I was curious about it at one point and tried a DA50/f1.8, which did the same thing. I think VonBaloney explained it well.

Yes, normal and ruddy irritating as well! To solve it I just pressed the AE lock until ready for a next shot, then unlocked AE.

Just have one more question, I know the K-01 is not an action camera but would like to purchase the best memory card. I don't have any extra cards, I am using a 32gb SanDisk Extreme Pro borrowed from another off my cameras. All you K-01 owners, what card works for you ?

I don't think you are going to do better than the SanDisk Extreme Pro. The K-01's card reader is a little picky about brands - mine don't like Sony cards and some Kingston cards. I just stick with SanDisk Ultras and Extremes.

PS: I didn't chime in on the aperture issue, since it was already covered, but the term we used to use for that behavior on the K-01 is 'squinting'. It's more likely to do it with fast lenses.

I've only gone as high as 32GB. K-01 supports SDXC so that's at least 64GB and up.
If this Kingston website is correct then the K-01 should recognize up to 512GB:
