Prototype K-01 Grip?

I have been developing a fun little addition to my K-01. The things that might have been. First run will be back from 3D printing soon. This has been a spare time indulgence, as I also live in the CAD world for my real job.

I've never owned the K-01, but I have to say that looks very cool indeed! Please post photos of the physical prototype when you get it back? I'd love to see it

Is it functional?
I mean, did you send out for 3D printing a model of a "K-01 with grip", as a decoration only, or you made a functional grip with batteries, trigger, on/off switch etc.?

at any rate, it is very beautiful, and I own a white K-01 just like that one you drew

Sure. Here are some quick Smurfs.

I actually own 3 K-01's. The design for this grip is for functionality, I have more detailed parts completed. slide out for batteries. Worked out the pin set from an old K10D and Grip. The pin group has the same footprint as the area on the bottom of the K-01 where the name plate is. These were more to see proof of concept. And fitment.

Very interesting. I think I'd like one that is tiny on the bottom, but adds a full sized hand grip possibly on both the left and right sides.

I'm not interested in a battery grip but I'd buy a hand grip.

You posted one here years ago:

Yes. That one was a one off. It worked OK. I actually have another on the drawing board, borrowing from that earlier one. It incorporates an Arca Swiss style plate with grip.

Intriguing,... But how do the buttons talk to the body?

And getting power in to the body? Heck, I know they listed an AC adapter the plugs in to the battery slot, but I've never seen one for sale.

Mind you, if you need more battery life on the K-01, you must really be pushing the camera to it's limits.

Contact pins from old K10d and grip.
