Karl Lagerfeld

Well he past away. Great in many ways and one of them is being in a picture with the K-01

Not sure I understand this post. My ideal concept camera would be a K1, K mount, no OVF, with an large OLED touch screen at the back (reuse from smartphones), mounted on a tilt frame two axis, and with tree dials on top of the camera (aperture, shutter speed and exposure compensation), hotshoe for flash, and a good grip for hand held shooting. The K-01 flaw was lack of outdoor backlighting on the LCD and no EVF, plus slow AF. Currently the size of MILC camera shows that having a new mount isn't necessary. However, why have a tiny LCD on a camera when you can have a large bright OLED or IPS on a cheap smartphone (with auto power saving, when you tap on the display it out the display and the camera out of standby mode)?

Ah ok. Sounds weird to me. Anyway, regardless, I made a point that mirrorless with K mount isn't necessarily stupid depending on what the camera can do., maybe out of topic.

I think many hundreds of fashion photographers would not find the sentiment weird at all.

Obviously a giant of fashion, but we should remember he was also a photographer …

Thanks for posting Clackers. Very interesting reading. I've also sent the links to my daughter - She's studying Fashion.

Yeah, he came to it late, Pete, in the 1980s, and often shot with 8x5. He was also a fan of black and white cinema.

Here's one of his Schiffers:

Yup, cheers Clackers, really enjoyed that article, there's a lot to be said (and a lot is currently said) about him, but one can't deny the late Mr. Lagerfeld an absolute talent for getting accross his clear, concise view on fashion/art/design/communication/photography and where/how they all intersect.
