Let's discuss religion. Do you believe in a supreme being? If not, why not?

Before you bleat... It's a very reasonable question from an atheist. There are simply too many fakes out there that have not really thought this through. They are basic agnostics, (fence sitters if you will), who have the alarming tendency to rush around making the thinking atheist look bad.

In your own time... Go on...
Pointless Mr Ginge, even more so than the bantering back and forth on politics. I will say that I don't give a rat's fat ass what you or anyone else here believes or doesn't believe....I do not answer for you....or to you.

Yikes... You're a god botherer...

You should probably put down your socialist manifesto - It's incompatible with bashing the bible mate...

Sucks when you get busted doesn't it?

How come these politicals get all the hot chicks? If he were a plumber, would this be possible? No offense to plumbers.

Busted? What are you talking about Mr Ginge? If you had any real knowledge, and your hero Glenn Beck hadn't ordered the Book of Acts removed from the Bible, you would be shocked at what you would read......but a well rounded guy like you doesn't have a clue, do you? You are mostly a babbler Mr Ginge, and an awful lot of your babble has no basis in fact.......just Glenn Beck style ranting meant to sensationalize and scare old ladies and little children. Not many here are impressed, I can assure you.

You're a bible basher, god botherer, thumper, believer in the "Lord", whatever. You believe in a supreme being don't you? Tell the truth - because you tried to avoid it in the answer you gave above and I suspect you sit on one side of the fence as a believer yet accuse people that don't share your political views of being religious nuts. Those positions are pretty much incompatible.

Mr Ginge, you are sounding more and more like a mentally disturbed person.....you are just not making any sense in your efforts to attack me.

Of course I accuse religious nutcakes of being fruitloops, left or right, because they are! What do you find incompatible about that? Because I don't believe your boy Beck or Robertson have a direct private line to God any more than a left wing wingnut.....that makes me a "thumper"...whatever the hell you mean by that? Have you seen me do any Bible thumping here Mr Ginge........ other than in the delusional world you live in?
Regards!

Ted's religious beliefs aside, I bet if you look deep enough, it'll turn out that he has significant investments in "solar and wind power and geo-thermals..." and has probably unloaded all of his BP stock...

He's clumsily avoiding the question because he knows that he's going to get nailed with the "H" word and has credibility will sink so low they'll be using it to plug the spill in the Gulf...

Mr Ginge, Sir, you are not making a lick of sense here, as usual. I have no idea of what you are talking about? If you have a question, just post it! If it is as ridiculous as you are, I may not answer it to your satisfaction, but I'll try.

Ted Turner isn't known as being a man of faith so this statement is somewhat surprising. I guess it's popular at the moment to blame everything on Divine judgement. As a Christian who has done plenty of Bible reading, I believe I am accurate in saying that the worse judgement of all will fall on the false prophets. It makes me wonder why so many who should know better are so quick to say "thus says the Lord...." every time they make a speech about something that annoys them.

The oil spill happened because somebody messed up somewhere. Corners were cut and now the results are a major disaster. The same with the coal mine. The reasons behind these disasters are the corporate philosophy of cutting corners to get the job done quicker and cheaper without regard to safety or risk. Being a CEO, Turner is showing the same arrogence they all seem to display when these things happen, that it isn't a failure of technology or management, it's a message from God. Jesus told a parable about foolish people who build their houses on sand. The technology we rely on to sustain our modern lifestyles is for the most part a sand castle. When it fails, the consequences are devastating.

You dare to question these "Men of God"? I recall how the rights own Jesus George spoke directly with God and received counseling.......remember......and you see how that worked out for America.

Gentlemen,

DingDingDing... Please return to your corners.

When the conversation resumes, please cool the personal attacks and insults and discuss the subject at hand, "Ted Turner blaming God for the oil disaster," not the presumed stupidity of your opponent.

Acts 17:11 "Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness and examined the scriptures daily to see if these things were so."

Check it out. See if it is true. Anyone who has ever read Jeremiah 23:31 "Behold, I am against the prophets, says the Lord, who use their own tongues and say 'Thus says the Lord'. " , ought to think twice about making statements like that. The rest of that chapter should scare you more. Everyone has an opinion and the right to speak it. It's dangerous to put God's name on it unless you are quoting from the scriptures. I won't question any leaders right to use prayer for guidance. I do have the right and also the charge of the scriptures to " see if these things are so"

There's nothing exactly 'leftist' about (A corporate CEO) writing off corporate negligence and irresponsibility as 'Acts of God.'
