So you're one of the people who buy from that outfit. I've always wondered.

When YOU look at that listing, you see the Buyer info? Could you be looking at a previous or later listing? That outfit has been on ebay forever so I doubt they are trying to scam You. Since ebay and PP take their quart of blood based on final sales price I see no benefit whatsoever in upping the price After auction end. I see no way of doing it either unless it's some feature of the 'ebay store'. Doesn't make much sense.

I am now.

When I go to the "Won" list, it says $245. When you click on the item, it brings you to the "Congratulations Idiot 731, you bought this item," and it has the higher price.

I'm sure I'm just going to pay the original price, but what's the motivation for him to do this in the first place?
Maybe he's got another one to sell and wants people to see a higher sale price for past listings to bump the price?

I don't think you quite understand. The average purchase prices listed on the lens review database mean nothing:

The last post for the 35 2 you linked was in 2009, and over the past year, Tak prices have gone through the roof.

In addition, there's not one--not ONE average price on those lens reviews--that you can actually buy the lens for today and now. Plus, people lied about their purchase price THEN to make themselves feel better.

The lens reviews have their place here, but when it comes to today's prices, they're fantasy.

You have to go to keh.com to get a feel for that.

Is it possible at all to change the BIN price?

You weren't logged on to another ebay as the UK ebay.co.uk and got a price in £? Just a long shot

He told me I just have to pay the balance on the original price, and of course, I have his emails to prove this.

He has SOME reason for doing that, but God know what it is.

what I find interesting in this whole thing is....

I was unaware that you could make any changes to an auction once it had ended. Have you written e-bay and asked them about this?
