I personally take offense at being called a NUT JOB by someone that doesn't even know me simply because we have differing political views.
I don't think he called you a right wing nut job, but can you deny that right and left wing nut jobs are out there, and that some columnists defend them?

I share your concern about conservatives and liberals insulting one another, but I'm not sure that is what he was doing.

A
As long as you supported the 2 (pick a real good euphemism like this: Nazi) called Rumsfied and Cheney.......

You mean prosecution?

Criminal prosecutions. I would hope that we don't drop this entirely and just say, "Put it in the closet with slavery and everything else, you know, and let's hope the stink goes away in a decade or two." I would think that we would -- Secretary Powell, right after Abu Ghraib -- and I believe he believed this in his soul, went out and said repeatedly, "Watch what happens. Watch what happens. The photographs are horrible. Should never have happened. But watch what happens. Our democracy will deal with this. It will hold the people who should be held accountable, accountable. Watch." And then you saw Rumsfeld hauled before the Senate Armed Services Committee. Indeed twice, he offered to resign. You saw the kinds of processes you should have seen to affect this kind of accountability. But it never happened.
Torturing Democracy
ANYONE paying attention?????????

How did we get to this place?

We got to this place because Bush and Cheney, who rarely speak unless there's camouflage behind them, have made it that way. They have put the military out as their stalking horse for every issue that grates right now: Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran. This is not the way we should be running our republic. This is a very dangerous way to run our republic.

Jeff, I have a quick question for you. Do you ever come up with your own opinions? Or do you just keep parroting other people? Do you love C&P (cut and paste) that much?

DISCLAIMER * DISCLAIMER **
Just asking. No insult is intended at all.

Here is my opinion, if it wasn't obvious.......
Bush was and still is the biggest fool of a pres I have seen in my life.
Cheney/(Rumsfeld, pick one) is a heartless paranoid a$$ who has befouled or moral nest for generations. AND WE LET THEM DO IT...
FACTS no longer seem to hold any weight in the US.
I finally found a Republican I can respect... his name is (drumroll)Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson
Chief of Staff to Secretary of State
(2002-2005)
yet his voice is being drowned out by incessant "opinions ignoring all facts"
Our country has had an "identity crisis" since the assassination of Kennedy and moral malaise or worse.. "moralizing" violence since.......
That Bush sr was a good president, unfortunately he had children.
That Clintons trysts have ABSOLUTELY nothing do with his presidency and Baby Bush was the one that should have been impeached.
His actions have demoralized the "good people" but empowered the worst of "us".... and the good people better get their $hit together or "bush reincarnated" will be back, and worse........ this one will have half a brain.......
guess I should add on Obama.....
good way to hopefully shake things up a bit but is just a minor bandage on a gaping wound.
Is totally a "centrist" crucified as a liberal/commie/socialist with little or no factual basis but "opinion" and "talking points".
No president could, in one sweep, could fix what we allowed to happen since Clinton's fatal error in the lame duck congress (one he apologized for).
Business is GOOD for an economy but BIG business is generally not so good for "the little people".
Nationalism should be dying by now, our global economy is becoming so interlinked that it is almost impossible to be a valid "philosophy"
Were not ready for it and the backlash would be tremendously painful.... though it's inevitable barring WW-3....
On to a few more..
Iraq was a total cluster f@ck failure and one of the stupidest things we did in generations... which is now allowing Iran to be top dog... remember the "balance of power" discussions regarding the "governmentally backward Mideast"
Afghanistan was OK, yet still a "work in progress"
Our army is great, our leaders ..no so...
Ayn Rand is an idiot
Trickle down still doesn't work
Government is not a business and never should be.
gulf oil spill is "ugly" and caused by cost cutting on BP's fault..
Obama can play golf..... Tony Hayward should be banned from stepping foot on our soil...... unless he has a mop in his hand.
20 bil "cleanup fund" will get no messier then the "suits" running around digging up caselaw from the Middle Ages and litigating things to death.
Gen. Stanley McChrystal is in BIG trouble.....
just opinions.....

Vision

"A President of vision"

Being a Canadian and therefore not conversant with all American usage, is VISION synonymous with NIGHTMARE ?

Facts. Facts can be skewed every which way yet still be fact. Depends where you put the emphasis.

Remember, there are 3 sides to every argument.

Mickey, I think in this context, vision is also synonymous with hallucination.
