I know that we've got cyclists here. Any following le Tour this year?

I follow it!
Love the endurance, strategy and luck it takes to ride the entire tour, the peloton and the whole team concept.
Not as close to cycling as in days past but still get up for the major races. And this is the biggy. Let's see how it unfolds.
Plus cycling photography is pretty darn captivating.

I follow it but not quite as closely as years past. I watch the results until the mountains when the real race starts and it's time to watch.

I love seeing Pettacci show that little jerk Cavendish how it's done.

Chuck Norris is 70 years old as of this past march. However, a broom handle to the front spokes and a snap kick should even things up pretty quickly.

I've been fortunate enough to see portions of it in person twice. Here's one of my photos of Greg Lemond in the 1990 edition:

Photo was taken with a Olympus XA2 pocket camera. I also followed some of the Alpine stages in the 2004 edition via motorcycle. I've got some photos somewhere...

I follow the race, too. As an avid cyclist, tho not a racer, I find it amazing how the pros ride so fast in the peloton, shoulder to shoulder, round twisting roads. It's like watching large flocks of birds or schools of fish. The early stages this time have been dramatic. Hard to predict who might take the MJ.

Bike race photography can be really good, as Jools says. Next year I'll join my colleague to shoot the Tour of the Battenkill in eastern NY. John, you must have been thrilled to shoot pictures at the Tour.

That's right. Youth and skill can always be outdone by old age and treachery.

Unfortunately for L. Armstrong, apparently somebody did that to him 2 or 3 times yesterday.

Better late then never, but I just posted some picture I took of last years Tour de France in the photo gallery. Notably the prologue in Rotterdam and the climb to Avoriaz. Lance lost a lot of time in that climb. As the last photo shows... he looks a bit grim...
