-----Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance decided to do something about it, releasing on Monday the “Journal of Iranian Hairstyles Approved by the Ministry” to assist discerning Iranian men in appropriate Islamic grooming.-------

My God, do I want to say something--but I don't know if it's worth the infraction.

Unlike stoning women because they were raped, this is not a human rights issue and we (aka... anyone not an Iranian) should frankly stay the heck out of it. If it makes the Billy Ray's of Iran finally stand up and throw out their oppressive government, all the better, but if they are willing to live with petty repressions like this who are we to say nay?

Good point, Mike. This isn't even as uncomfortable or unattractive as making the women wear full body/face coverings.

The only Billy Ray I know is the bbq sauce that I buy and doctor up.

But it's little things like this that are the little steps which make it possible to stone women who are raped. So I don't think it's all that insignificant.

And they already have plenty of excuses and foundation in their culture for blaming women for their men's lack of sexual self control. This is so insignificant as to be comparable to an elephant stepping on an amoeba.

Another history lesson-- ironically, Cyrus, for which Billy Ray's family would have been named sometime in history, was one of the greatest emperors of Persia (Iran). Among other things, Cyrus was known for his religious tolerance toward the conquered.
