Hilarious(?) ad protests the building of a mosque at Ground Zero

Watch the Anti-Mosque Ad That's Too Hot for Networks to Air - Gothamist

I think building a mosque there is probably not the wisest PR move (to put it lightly), but this response is just so over the top, tone-deaf, and tasteless...

THEY!!!

Mother of Punk. Was there something too complicated about it having been the *World* ....Trade.... center, and the people who died there *not* being just a bunch of Fundie Bushies?

They're milking this atrocity, and when I say 'they' I mean those who like bloody rags and torture implements.

One thing you don't hear about Flight 93 is that a Fundie and a gay man rushed the cockpit side-by-side.

Mosque, church, who cares, if one 'side' and/or the other will just keep making a battleground of it.

If any of these religions count to a Good-Gods-forsaken hill of beans in this world, it surely ain't about *who* blew something up and calls it holy.

We've seen that before.

This is about you guys believing, however few of them you may insist there are, that there are some few things sacred in this wondrous universe.

It's not a Mother-lovin' game of 'capture the flag.'

If you wanna pray about something, you all pray *right there.*

Just don't try painting it up as anything but what it is.

Look at it.

Whether it's seen as short-term insensitivity or not, building a mosque near ground zero (especially one with a moderate and multi-faith mission) has great potential to represent a progressive move for the image of the Muslim-American community in the long view. The people who are trying to stop this thing right now are racists (it's more complicated than simply hatred or fear of the arab or Persian "race," but the stigma of that term is acute and correct in this case), and deserve to have their hatred and fear turned inside out and shoved in their faces.
