The worst Motion Picture you ever saw

Just curious here.

What is the worst Motion Picture you ever paid money to see and walked out on before it was over.

For me, It was in 1982 and the movie was....

"Thunder Chicken" which starred Richard Pryor.

I try not to remember such things, but one comes instantly to mind: TRANSYLVANIA 6-5000 with Jeff Goldblum IIRC, from around 1985. The first couple minutes were absolutely brilliant. The rest was unutterably awful. I'd bought the CED disc so I couldn't walk out, just turn it off and throw it away.

I was a "preteen" in the '50's and experienced uncounted dreadful offerings during Wednesday summer matinees. However, I recall walking out of only two movies.

During my high school years, double features were popular and I specifically remember my girlfriend and I enduring the first feature, "Peyton Place" but bailing after about 10 minutes of the second feature, "Return to Peyton Place" (had we been at the drive-in, we likely would have stayed ).

I also remember during my college and smoking years, repeatedly walking out of a first run of Dr. Zhivago which plodded along interminably. My cue to head for the lobby (and a Marlboro) was when Zhivago (or someone else) would begin to trudge through the snow. I'd return (refreshed) to find the story had moved not at all (except for one more case of frostbite). My recollection is that after a few months the movie was (mercifully in my view) edited significantly; I saw the edited film several years later and thoroughly enjoyed it - but I'd quit smoking by then .

Jer

Arggghh, where to start?

There are bazillions of really bad movies and everyone knows they are bad, so we can skip them. However, I think the bad movies that were supposed to be good should be named.

Lost and Delirious
Black and White
Armageddon

Titanic. 2+ hours of the driest least entertaining movie I've ever had the displeasure of witnessing.

Looking for Mr. Goodbar. By far, the worst movie I've ever sat through.

I didn't walk out but "Star Trek - The Motion Picture" (the ORIGINAL Star Trek movie) has to be the all time WORST!

2nd worst would have to be "Overboard" (Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell)

I just recently saw The Wind And The Lion with Sean Connery (1975). It's definitely the worst movie I've ever seen.

Talledega nights. We rented it and pulled it out of the DVD player after the thank you baby jesus scene, and we're agnostic.... I like dumb and funny, it was just dumb.

The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover. Critically acclaimed, but nothing can make it worthwhile to sit through some of those scenes.

Quickest exit from a film was from an independent theater showing another "acclaimed" movie (I believe it was German) which began with some guy licking the floor of a public restroom. Outta here quick! I can't find the title of this abomination, and I've probably just gotten on a bunch of lists I don't want by trying to find it on Google.

The Room falls under the "so bad it's good" banner, though.

So bad it's still bad movies are far worse.

After a day I'm still trying to think what my least favorite film experience has been. Too many contenders.
