Well, my local shop quoted me $1099.99 for the K10d body only.

Is this basically the going rate?

Any ideas on kit prices from around the continent?

I was also quoted either a 16-55 or 18-45, cannot recall which, for $200.

So, apparently, my "kit" would run $1300 CDN plus taxes. Seems reasonable when the Nikon D80 w/18-70 glass is $1579.00 plus taxes.

Anyone else have experiences they can share?

paid 999.95 USD (1084 w/ tax) for the kit
body only was 919.95, so thats about 80 dollars for the lens..not to shabby...
that and they only had the kits available..so I just bought the kit....

I got the body for $889 from Beach Camera

They've got great prices, I guess, as well as prompt service.

I guess that is canadian dollars

1099 is the going rate..... there is a place in toronto that has the k10 body for around 1065 and the 16-45mm pentax lens combo for $1449. canadian
