K-r manufactured by ... Pentagram!

I was checking if the K-r price shows already on a German price search website and noticed they list it, even though there are still no prices. But what I noticed was that the camera is manufactured by ... Pentagram! "Hersteller" = maker in German.

Well, they said there is some magic in Pentax cameras...

Pentax K-r - Preisvergleich - SLR > 10 Megapixel

I don't get it, I have never heard of that company? Is this supposed to mean something to anyone outside the EU?

I believe if the point portion of the star is facing up, is is a symbol of the Wicca religion. The star turned upside down is meant to be the opposite of wicca, or devil worshipping. Logically, this means that it is bad luck to turn your Pentax camera upsidedown when in Germany....

What was that old line from the Lon Chaney (Jr) movies? "Even though he's kind and pure of heart by day, when the wolfbane blows and the moon is full . . . . . . . he'll need high ISO with low noise." Or, something like that.

mikemike, I bet it's either an inside joke of them and not meant to be seen or a typo-like error where you choose the word from a drop-down list or something.

Or perhaps there really is something we don't know about the origins of these cameras!

Well, technically, with the circle, it's a 'pentacle,' (even if many actually use the terms interchangeably) but you've more or less got the right idea for most practical purposes.

Both symbols actually appear in other contexts, (Lots of them, actually, throughout history,)

As for Wolf Camera, though, if you dare speak the name, just cry aloud 'Beltsville!' and middle management will be held at bay.
