A primary part of our job is to make sure the forum is a suitable place for users of all ages. If the forum were aimed at adults only, I would have no problem with vulgarities of almost any type. People could drop the F-bomb with abandon for all I'd care. However, that is not the case. This is supposed to the the "friendly" forum and the rules are set up with that goal in mind.
Finally, to conclude... none of us operate under a delusion that we are perfect and "stink free." We make mistakes and get torked off and go overboard sometimes just like any other user. And when we do, we feel the sting of the lash as well we should...
Fair enough?

Mike,
Self appointed part was referring to moral authority part, not the moderator part. I know you guys do not appoint yourself. Gee, if I can do that, I will be doing it myself, causing even more trouble.
You know, I was not dropping F-bombs like an angry bitter rap singer. I just said that the lens line-up looks like crap, except slightly more vulgar, I guess. The tone of my thread was very much restrained. It was simply a frank way of saying what they really look like. Adam does it at times, and I don't mind it. In fact, I like it. So in my view, censorship was not necessary. Period.
Friendly is fine. But I want a frank discussion without BS, or a false sense of security every time worrisome news pop up. I have over $10,000 invested in my gear. I really would like to know what people think. Truly like a talk radio of the past, I want heated arguments for what I consider a good cause. Reasonable amount of vulgarity is a small price to pay for meaningful discussions.
But in the end I do realize to a certain extent the kind BS moderators have to put up with.
So, fair enough.
